The “A Look On Vision” exhibition shows real images of the human eye captured at the Coimbra Surgical Center. The search for the best image and the details necessary for a good diagnosis provided extraordinary photographs either because of their sharpness, color and dimension, or because they reveal textures and structures that were otherwise not perceptible. We come across the rare and unusual, transporting us to a work of art or something of the everyday.
The photographs on display are an innovative means of communication between science and art, combining sensitivity with creativity. If we consider art an exclusive manifestation of human nature, then we will better understand the reasons that bring these two universes together.
This exhibition took place at the Centro Cirúrgico de Coimbra, Coimbra Science Museum, Museum of Natural History and Science, in Lisbon, and in numerous town councils across our country. It also traveled to the Langone Medical Center gallery at New York University, in the USA, to the European School in Luxembourg, to the exhibition hall of the Instituto Santo António in Rome, Italy and to Domus, House of Man in La Coruña, Spain.
